Cybersecurity Engineer – Remote (Jordan/Syria)

About the role

Elevatus is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to protect its SaaS platforms and cloud infrastructure. The role is fully remote and open to candidates located in Jordan or Syria. You will work closely with engineering, DevOps, product and IT teams to embed security throughout the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and defend cloud‑based infrastructure, applications and networks against threats.
• Implement and maintain security controls across AWS, Azure and GCP environments.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, coordinate penetration testing and perform risk analysis.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, alerts and suspicious activities.
• Develop, maintain and enforce security policies, procedures and standards.
• Perform security audits and ensure compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR and other frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate security into the SDLC.
• Configure and manage SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, WAF and endpoint protection solutions.
• Lead security awareness initiatives and provide guidance on best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security or a related field.
• 4–5 years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity, information security or cloud security.
• Strong understanding of network security, web‑application security and cloud security principles.
• Experience securing SaaS applications and cloud‑hosted environments.
• Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2 and CIS Controls.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
