IT Security Officer – Amman, Jordan

About the role

The IT Security Officer will lead the protection of sensitive information and ensure robust security protocols across the organization. This role combines hands‑on technical work with strategic planning to safeguard the IT infrastructure against emerging cyber threats.

Key responsibilities

• Provide efficient technical support in line with established SLAs.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential threats.
• Design, implement and maintain cybersecurity systems and protocols.
• Develop and execute incident response plans for security breaches and cyber‑attacks.
• Monitor network traffic, detect suspicious activity and respond promptly.
• Perform security audits and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Analyse threat‑intelligence reports and stay informed about new cyber threats.
• Deliver cybersecurity training and awareness programs for employees.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of hands‑on Help Desk support experience.
• Minimum 2 years of practical experience in cybersecurity.
• Proven ability to conduct security assessments and develop security policies.
• Familiarity with international and local standards such as PDPL, NCA, ISO 27001 and ISO 22301.
• Preferably holds certifications like CISM, CISA, CISSP or COBIT.
