About the role
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Jordan is seeking a Blue Economy Specialist to support the operationalisation of the Blue Economy Center for Innovation (BECI) in Aqaba. This short‑term, part‑time position will run for six months and focuses on advancing sustainable marine‑based economic activities while protecting the Gulf of Aqaba’s ecosystems.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and refine BECI’s technical programme and institutional mechanisms.
- Draft standard operating procedures and a blended‑finance platform for blue‑economy projects.
- Create a pipeline of bankable blue and circular‑economy investments.
- Coordinate with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), national institutions, private sector, academia, civil society and international partners.
- Support knowledge‑sharing and capacity‑building activities related to marine conservation and sustainable investment.
