Civil Engineer - Residential Villa Projects

About the role

Teranova Real Estate is looking for a qualified and motivated Civil Engineer with 3-4 years of practical experience in construction works and project execution, particularly residential villa projects. The position is based in Amman, Jordan and is full-time. On-site experience supervising residential villa projects is required; office-based experience in design, drafting or quantity calculations alone is not sufficient.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily construction activities at project sites.
• Oversee residential villa projects from excavation and foundations through structural works and finishing stages.
• Ensure works follow approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Prepare and calculate quantities for structural, architectural and finishing works, and prepare, review and update Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Monitor progress against the project schedule and coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and site workers.
• Review construction drawings, measure and verify executed quantities, and review subcontractors' payment claims.
• Monitor material requirements, site resources and construction costs, and prepare regular site progress reports.
• Identify and resolve technical and execution issues on site.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 3-4 years of proven professional experience in civil construction, with hands-on experience supervising residential villa projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural and finishing works and good experience in quantity surveying and BOQ preparation.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Preferred: current residence in Amman, a personal vehicle for travelling between sites, and previous experience with construction and contracting companies.
