Department Manager – Retail

About the role

The Department Manager oversees daily floor activities, ensuring efficient operations, strong visual merchandising standards, and consistent product availability. The role combines team leadership with a commercial focus to achieve sales objectives and maintain brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure customers receive timely, high-quality service in line with company standards.
• Oversee daily department operations and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain visual merchandising and store presentation standards to support sales performance.
• Monitor inventory and coordinate replenishment to maximize product, range, and size availability.
• Set team objectives, manage performance, and motivate employees to achieve results.
• Conduct daily briefings to communicate priorities, activities, and department objectives.
• Provide ongoing coaching and on-the-job training to develop team capabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 6–8 years of experience in retail or a similar role, including 3 years in a managerial position.
• Strong understanding of shop operating procedures.
• Demonstrated leadership, planning, communication, and customer service skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
