Maintenance Technician – Guest Repair

About the role

Join the engineering team of a luxury hotel to respond quickly to guest repair requests, perform preventive maintenance, and keep all building systems running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical‑room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines; carry equipment and locate shut‑off valves for utilities.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and relay daily activities to other shifts.
• Prepare surfaces, paint, perform minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and clean work areas thoroughly.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing, electrical components and guestroom items.
• Program TVs, handle housekeeping and engineering inventory duties, and apply lockout/tagout procedures.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping and maintain sprinkler systems.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders.
• Basic computer skills for inputting air‑handler schedules and temperature changes.

Required skills

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Electrical troubleshooting and component replacement.
• Plumbing repairs including unclogging drains.
• Mechanical and pneumatic/electronic system knowledge.
• Carpentry, painting, drywall and wood‑trim repair.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Landscaping and sprinkler‑system maintenance.
