Principal Engineer - Civil and Roads

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm operating in 100 countries, is hiring a Principal Engineer for its Infrastructure practice in Amman. The role leads high-profile civil and road projects, ensures technical excellence, maintains strong client relationships, provides strategic direction and mentors junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of civil and road works, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for major projects and build strong client relationships.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians and foster a collaborative, high-performance team.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, drawings and documentation.
• Manage project resources and schedules, and report regularly on project status, technical performance and team development to senior management.
• Prepare reports, calculations and design documentation, and use Civil 3D for BIM-based design.
• Assist in managing infrastructure projects alongside senior engineers and project leaders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in civil and road design, with a proven track record of leading complex projects.
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards, codes and regulations.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and commitment to continuous improvement.
