Principal Engineer - Wet Utilities

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm active in infrastructure, is hiring a Principal Engineer for Wet Utilities within its Infrastructure practice in Amman. The role leads high-profile projects, ensures technical excellence, maintains strong client relationships, provides strategic direction and mentors junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of Wet Utilities for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and act as the primary point of contact for major projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians and foster a collaborative, high-performance environment.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, drawings and documentation.
• Manage project budgets, resources and schedules, and report regularly to senior management on project status, technical performance and team development.
• Prepare reports, calculations and design documentation, and use Civil 3D for BIM-based design.
• Assist in managing Infrastructure projects alongside senior engineers and project leaders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in Wet Utilities, with a proven track record of leading complex projects.
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards, codes and regulations.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and commitment to continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Design of Wet Utilities: potable water, sewer, storm, irrigation, district cooling and firefighting.
• Working knowledge of EPANET, WaterCAD, InfoWorks, SewerCAD, StormCAD and SWMM.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS, MicroStation, MicroDrainage and HAMMER is a plus.
