Psychosocial Counselor

About the role

The Psychosocial Counselor provides comprehensive psychosocial assessment, counseling, and support to clients, primarily children and women facing violence, abuse, or difficult circumstances. The role involves direct client interaction at the office, home visits, and helpline support, ensuring confidentiality and accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to identify client needs and develop tailored intervention plans.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions, as well as home visits to clients, schools, or other relevant locations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date case files, databases, and prepare monthly and annual reports for management.
• Receive and manage calls on the helpline, offering immediate support according to established procedures.
• Coordinate referrals to external services, follow up on referrals, and adjust intervention plans as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in psychology or counseling; professional practice certificate is a plus.
• 3‑5 years of relevant experience, including at least one year providing psychological and social services to children or women in crisis.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Experience working with people with disabilities is advantageous.
• Ability to work under pressure, maintain precision, and stay organized.
