Route-Based Approach Consultant – Child Protection (Remote, 11 months)

About the role

The Route-Based Approach (RBA) Consultant will support UNICEF’s Migration and Displacement Hub in coordinating and implementing the RBA programme, which aims to improve protection for migrant children, families and host communities along migration routes. This is an 11‑month remote consultancy based in Amman, Jordan.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate RBA activities with UNICEF headquarters, regional and country offices, and key partners such as IOM and Save the Children.
• Prepare regular reports, data analysis and documentation of lessons learned.
• Support the development of policy briefs and contribute to global and regional policy discussions on migration and child protection.
• Facilitate cross‑border collaboration and technical assistance for partners along migration routes.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in Migration, Refugee Studies, Political Science, Economics, Development Studies or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in migration and displacement programme coordination.
• Experience working with complex UN/multilateral partnerships.
• Previous policy and data analysis/reporting experience with UNICEF or other UN agencies is strongly preferred.
• Experience in Ethiopia, Somalia, Libya, Tunisia or Egypt is an asset.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in French or Arabic is a plus.
