Safety and Security Consultant

About the role

The International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) in Jordan is seeking an experienced Safety and Security Consultant to conduct an independent, comprehensive evaluation of the physical security, operational procedures, and facility‑related risks at its Country Office. The consultant will identify vulnerabilities affecting staff, interns, clients, visitors, assets and confidential information, and deliver practical, risk‑based recommendations to enhance organizational resilience while preserving a safe, client‑centered environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess physical security of building envelope, entry systems and interview rooms.
• Review incident response, evacuation procedures and information security linked to physical access.
• Evaluate staff and intern security awareness, preparedness, and buddy‑system protocols.
• Produce an Executive Summary, full Security Assessment Report, Interview Room Security Protocol, prioritized Risk Register and draft Security Management Plan.
• Provide cost‑estimate categories and assign responsible parties for recommended mitigations.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of security management experience, preferably in humanitarian or NGO settings.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Familiarity with Jordanian NGO regulatory framework (Law on Societies No. 51/2008).
• Strong analytical and report‑writing skills.
