Airfield Management Shift Lead (AMSL)

About the role

The Airfield Management Shift Lead (AMSL) is responsible for maintaining situational awareness of all airfield activities and ensuring a safe, efficient, and effective environment for aircraft operations during the assigned shift.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct airfield inspections and safety checks in line with planning and design criteria.
• Plan, organize, and direct airfield construction, repairs, ice/snow removal, and bird/wildlife control programs.
• Procure and maintain flight information publications, aeronautical charts, NOTAMs, navigational aid status, and weather data.
• Process domestic and international flight plans and coordinate with base agencies for billeting, mess, refueling, transportation, and transient aircraft maintenance.
• Supervise coordination between air‑traffic control and maintenance personnel, enforce airfield safety procedures, and manage hazardous cargo and live‑fire devices.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved DoD/Airfield Managers course or equivalent.
• Minimum four (4) years of aviation‑related experience as aircrew, dispatcher, or flight follower with a 14 CFR Part 121 or Part 135 operator.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance and US CENTCOM medical exam.
• US citizenship required for clearance.
