Assistant Director of Safety and Security

About the role

The Assistant Director of Safety and Security oversees daily security and loss‑prevention operations to protect property assets, employees, and guests. The role ensures compliance with legal requirements, maintains necessary certifications, and trains staff in emergency and fire‑prevention procedures while supporting guest and employee satisfaction and budget goals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage security and loss‑prevention activities, including patrols, incident investigations, and emergency response.
• Assist the Director of Engineering with fire‑prevention programs and emergency preparedness.
• Conduct hazard and risk assessments, quarterly OSHA/Safety audits, and incident tracking.
• Develop and enforce shutdown procedures, key‑control guidelines, and monthly checks of CCTV, alarmed doors, and duress alarms.
• Lead the Accident Prevention Committee, first‑aid program, and claims monitoring for General Liability and Workers’ Compensation.
• Handle complaints, dispute resolution, and implement action plans to mitigate risk.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of security/loss‑prevention experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Criminal Justice (or related) with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
