Assistant Director of Safety and Security

About the role

The Assistant Director of Safety and Security supports the Director of Security in overseeing daily security operations for a hotel property in Aqaba. The role ensures the protection of guests, employees, and assets while maintaining compliance with legal and corporate safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing emergency and safety procedures.
• Investigate property losses, security breaches, and accidents, and coordinate appropriate follow‑up actions.
• Deploy and supervise security staff to monitor all areas, including parking and guest zones.
• Maintain logs, certifications, and required documentation in line with SOPs and local regulations.
• Conduct regular patrols, inspect security equipment, and ensure functionality.
• Handle guest complaints, resolve conflicts, and recognize team successes.
• Identify hazards, recommend risk‑mitigation actions, and keep abreast of local criminal activity.
• Prepare performance appraisals, deliver training, and manage disciplinary procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with at least 3 years of security or loss‑prevention experience, OR an associate degree in Criminal Justice with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, emergency response, and incident reporting.
• Ability to lead and motivate security teams and communicate effectively with guests and management.
