Child Protection Consultant to Support Justice for Children

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a senior consultant to provide technical capacity for its Reimagine Justice for Children agenda. The role supports the implementation of justice‑for‑children initiatives, rapid research, knowledge management and advocacy activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of the Reimagine Justice for Children agenda and related evaluation recommendations.
• Conduct rapid research and produce high‑quality legal, policy or programme analyses.
• Strengthen knowledge management, document good practices and develop technical guidance.
• Assist in the design and delivery of webinars, conferences and advocacy events.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in law, human rights, international development or a related field.
• Minimum eight years of progressively responsible experience in justice for children, child protection or human rights.
• Proven experience providing technical assistance to governments, UN agencies or development partners.
• Experience contributing to the development or review of laws, policies, strategies or programmes.

Required skills

• Strong technical expertise in justice‑for‑children and child‑protection systems strengthening.
• Excellent analytical, research, writing and editing abilities.
• Effective facilitation, coordination and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a remote, multicultural environment.
