Assistant Counsel, Legal, Compliance and Public Affairs

About the role

Join Marsh's regional legal team in Amman, supporting high‑profile matters across the Middle East, Africa and India. You will work on a broad portfolio of contentious issues and help strengthen risk management throughout the business.

Key responsibilities

• Advise stakeholders on litigation, pre‑litigation disputes, E&O matters, commercial and employment issues.
• Manage external counsel, track progress and review outputs on complex legal matters.
• Support end‑to‑end handling of E&O claims, including triage, investigation, resolution and trend analysis.
• Assist with internal investigations, document preservation, review and reporting.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts and related documents.
• Contribute to training, awareness, policy and process development across the LCPA function.

Required profile

• Recognised legal qualifications and admission to practice in Jordan, another Middle East jurisdiction, or a common‑law jurisdiction.
• 3–5 years post‑qualification experience in a law firm or in‑house role within the Middle East.
• Strong experience handling contentious matters and litigation, especially commercial and employment disputes.
• Excellent drafting, organisational and analytical skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
