Communications and Advocacy Consultant

About the role

UNICEF seeks a Communications and Advocacy Consultant to strengthen strategic advocacy and communications support for regional priorities. The consultant will develop, coordinate, document, and amplify visibility and advocacy at both regional and country levels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement advocacy and communications strategies and related products.
• Coordinate knowledge management, partnership activities, and donor reporting.
• Document and amplify regional and country‑level visibility and advocacy efforts.
• Produce high‑quality written and edited materials for external and internal audiences.
• Support alignment with UNICEF branding and content strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Knowledge Management, International Development, Partnership Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in communications, advocacy, knowledge management or partnership management, preferably in the development/humanitarian sector.
• Experience focusing on water, sanitation, climate change or related issues.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); Arabic and/or French are assets.
• Prior experience working with UN agencies is desirable.

Required skills

• Strong experience in developing advocacy and communications strategies and products.
• Proven track record in knowledge management, partnership coordination and donor reporting.
• Excellent writing and editing skills for diverse audiences.
• Familiarity with UNICEF branding and content guidelines (advantage).
