Deputy General Manager – Sales & Marketing (Building Materials)

About the role

The Deputy General Manager – Sales & Marketing will lead the company’s project sales, retail sales, marketing and customer‑care functions for building‑materials products. Reporting to the General Manager, the role translates corporate strategy into revenue growth, profitability and market‑share expansion across Jordan.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual commercial plans, budgets, sales forecasts, channel targets and KPIs; monitor performance and take corrective actions.
• Direct project‑sales activities, from identification and specification to tendering, negotiation, award and commercial follow‑up of major construction opportunities.
• Drive retail‑sales growth by optimizing sales‑team performance, product mix, pricing, promotions, customer segmentation and expansion into new locations and channels.
• Lead marketing strategy and annual plan, ensuring campaigns, lead‑generation initiatives and brand activities support customer acquisition and market positioning.
• Oversee customer‑care performance, service standards, complaint resolution and feedback loops.
• Coach and develop sales, marketing and customer‑care managers; collaborate with finance, operations, production, procurement and technical functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field; international education or executive development preferred.
• 12‑15+ years of progressive commercial experience in building‑materials, construction products or related industries, with at least 5 years in senior sales or project‑sales leadership.
• Proven track record managing multidisciplinary commercial teams and achieving revenue, margin and growth targets.
• Extensive experience in specification‑driven selling and involvement in major construction projects from early stages to delivery.
• Strong knowledge of the Jordanian building‑materials market and an established professional network among consultants, contractors, developers, architects and project owners.
