Emergency Specialist – Planning & Reporting

About the role

The Emergency Specialist (Planning and Reporting) will support UNICEF’s MENA Regional Office in Amman, Jordan, by strengthening emergency preparedness and response across the region. Working within the Humanitarian Team, the specialist will provide strategic planning, risk monitoring and reporting to ensure timely, coordinated humanitarian action for children in crisis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of regional risk monitoring tools and scenario analyses.
• Prepare fully costed contingency plans and multi‑country humanitarian appeals.
• Coordinate cross‑border and sub‑regional collaboration to mobilize funding, technical support and supplies.
• Produce regular situation reports, dashboards and analytical briefs for senior management and donors.
• Support country offices with emergency planning, information‑sharing and rapid deployment of resources.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in humanitarian affairs, public health, international development or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in emergency planning, reporting or humanitarian coordination, preferably in the MENA region.
• Strong understanding of UNICEF’s Core Commitments for Children in Humanitarian Action.
• Excellent analytical, writing and presentation skills.
