Fraud Analyst

About the role

The Fraud Analyst is responsible for monitoring financial transactions around the clock, identifying suspicious activity, and taking decisive action to protect the organization and its partners from fraud. This role works closely with internal teams, merchants, and issuing banks to ensure timely resolution of fraud cases.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor merchant and card transaction activity 24/7 according to company procedures and service standards.
• Review and evaluate alerts generated by predefined fraud detection rules, clearing queued alerts each shift.
• Contact cardholders, merchants, and issuing banks to verify suspicious transactions and initiate outbound notifications.
• Hold funds for highly suspicious activities to prevent losses.
• Document case details, produce reports, and ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
• Escalate critical issues through proper channels and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) for third‑party customers and merchants.
• Provide feedback on fraud rule effectiveness and recommend enhancements.

Required profile

• University degree from a recognized institution.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to detect irregular patterns in transaction data.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with banks, merchants, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet daily alert‑evaluation targets.

Required skills

• Experience with fraud detection platforms or tools.
