Gym Instructor

About the role

A full-time, non-management Gym Instructor position in Amman, Jordan, within the golf, fitness and entertainment category. The role covers instructing group fitness classes, giving fitness advice and keeping the recreational area safe and welcoming.

Key responsibilities

• Instruct group fitness classes such as aerobics, spinning and strength training at all ability levels
• Advise individuals on the correct use of fitness equipment and assess their current programme and fitness level to design personalised plans
• Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere, welcome guests and help people with disabilities
• Observe the facility, respond to emergencies in line with local procedures and assist injured guests until emergency services arrive
• Clean and maintain the area, equipment and supplies, and report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the manager
• Follow company policies, keep a professional appearance and protect confidential information

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• At least 1 year of related work experience
• No supervisory experience required
• CPR certification and First Aid certification
• Any certification or training required by local and state agencies

Physical demands include standing, walking or sitting for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted and reaching overhead and below the knees. Some states may have additional licensing requirements.
