Investment Analyst Apprenticeship – Short Term Consultant

About the role

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is offering a short‑term consultancy apprenticeship for recent graduates to join its Investment team in the Middle East Regional Office. The role provides hands‑on experience in investment origination, structuring and monitoring across a range of private‑sector projects in Jordan.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze historical financial statements and prepare reports on company financial health and viability.
• Conduct research to map potential investment opportunities and assess sector and country trends.
• Assist in due‑diligence of prospective transactions, including financial analysis, industry benchmarking and preparation of investment review materials.
• Support development of financial models and assess proposed structures for debt, equity and blended‑finance investments.
• Prepare internal documents, briefing notes, pitch books and client presentations for transaction teams and management.
• Monitor existing investments by reviewing financial statements, performance data and sector updates.
• Maintain client databases and prepare meeting materials to strengthen relationships with companies, banks and government counterparts.
• Work with ESG and advisory colleagues to integrate development impact considerations into projects.
• Contribute to lessons‑learned exercises, pipeline reviews and knowledge products to inform investment and sector strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business or engineering.
• Strong analytical and financial skills, including company financial statement analysis, DCF, scenario analysis and comparable company analysis.
• Ability to build and work with complex financial models; hands‑on experience from coursework, projects or internships is desirable.
