Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Officer

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) Officer will support the NASHMIA project, a five‑year initiative aimed at strengthening women‑led climate enterprises in Jordan. Based in Amman, the officer will ensure robust data collection, analysis, and learning processes to track project impact and inform strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain the project’s monitoring and evaluation framework.
• Collect, verify and analyse quantitative and qualitative data from field activities.
• Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards and learning briefs for the Project Director and senior MERL staff.
• Coordinate with partner organisations to ensure data quality and timely submission.
• Support capacity‑building workshops on M&E tools and learning methodologies.
• Contribute to research outputs, case studies and knowledge‑sharing products.

Required profile

• University degree in social sciences, development studies, economics, environmental studies or a related field.
• Relevant experience in monitoring, evaluation, research or learning within development projects.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including NGOs, government agencies and community groups.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
• Willingness to work onsite in Amman and travel to project sites as needed.
