Senior AI & ML Engineer

About the role

CGNI Intelligence is seeking a Senior AI & ML Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI systems that solve complex enterprise problems and deliver measurable business impact. The role is full‑time, on‑site in Amman, Jordan, and involves work on large language models (LLMs), Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic AI, and applied machine learning for both in‑house products and client engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Own AI/ML engineering work from feasibility and design through evaluation, deployment, and continuous improvement.
• Design and build LLM applications, RAG pipelines, and agentic systems that leverage enterprise data with appropriate human oversight.
• Perform data analysis, feature engineering, and model training or adaptation, collaborating on data pipelines and quality requirements.
• Establish evaluation methods and test harnesses to assess model quality, retrieval performance, agent behavior, and system reliability.
• Ensure production readiness, including monitoring, scalability, failure handling, security, and governance.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of hands‑on AI/ML experience, including 2+ years with Generative AI and LLMs.
• Proven ownership of designing, building, deploying, and supporting AI/ML solutions in production.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit‑learn.
• Hands‑on work with LLM applications, embeddings, retrieval, and RAG pipelines.
• Building agentic systems with tool integration, execution boundaries, and human approval.
• Integration of AI systems via APIs, data pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
