IRIS System Engineer

About the role

The IRIS System Engineer will design, implement, maintain and support the IRIS infrastructure and related healthcare applications. The role ensures optimal performance, security and reliability while aligning system capabilities with business requirements. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot issues and enable end‑users to leverage the platform effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, high‑volume data integration solutions using IRIS ForHealth, Ensemble, Cache and ObjectScript.
• Develop ETL processes to ingest healthcare data into FHIR resources and profiles.
• Create and maintain interfaces using HL7v2, HL7v3, FHIR, CDA and X12 standards.
• Implement terminology mappings (SNOMED, ICD, LOINC) and privacy filters to meet regulatory requirements.
• Develop REST and SOAP web services and configure ISC API Manager for API creation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in system integration, data migration and application configuration.
• Professional certifications in systems engineering or cloud platforms are a plus.

Required skills

• SQL and database management.
• Python and PowerShell scripting.
• Version control with GIT and collaboration tools such as Atlassian.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies.
• Healthcare data standards: HL7v2, HL7v3, FHIR, CDA, X12, SNOMED, ICD, LOINC.
