SPA Manager – Recreation Operations

About the role

The SPA Manager supports the Director of Recreation in overseeing the pool and beach areas, ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, and smooth operation of cabana units. The role focuses on delivering exceptional guest service while driving financial performance and employee satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage recreation staff, covering duties in their absence.
• Maintain daily upkeep, cleanliness, and overall maintenance of pool and beach facilities.
• Operate and coordinate cabana units and related guest services.
• Schedule and execute events, programs, and group activities such as sand painting, bonfires, and team‑building sessions.
• Manage external vendors, including water‑sports and scuba providers.
• Order, track, and distribute supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms.
• Oversee the children’s program, coordinating activities and purchasing necessary equipment.
• Model and coach exemplary customer‑service behavior for staff.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least one year of recreation/health‑club operations experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Health Education, Physical Education, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Excellent communication and coaching abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of pool and beach facility maintenance.
• Experience managing staff schedules and event programming.
• Ability to coordinate with external vendors and manage inventory.
