Application Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Application Engineer to join Avertra’s fast‑paced team, developing low‑code solutions for customer‑centric industries such as utilities, financial services, logistics and commerce. You will work directly with clients, creating Mendix applications while receiving mentorship and training toward Mendix Advanced certification.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement new Mendix applications and enhance existing ones.
• Maintain and optimise software performance and data models.
• Create modern, user‑friendly UI using HTML and CSS.
• Build and integrate APIs (REST, SOAP) and services.
• Collaborate with management, technical support and Agile teams.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Identify and recommend improvements to existing solutions.
• Pursue continuous learning in Mendix and other low‑code platforms.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in application development with Mendix (Intermediate certification required).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or IT.
• Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical tasks.
• Self‑motivated, able to manage multiple assignments and meet project timelines.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Proven problem‑solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
