Area Operations Specialist – Grocery Store Operations (Jordan)

About the role

talabat is seeking an Area Operations Specialist in Jordan to support the rapid growth of its tMart grocery store concept. You will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure end‑to‑end operational excellence across inventory, pick‑pack, asset management and expense control.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Operations Manager with inventory management, pick‑pack processes, property/asset oversight, operational standards, expense control and maintenance.
• Monitor supervisors to ensure compliance with inventory policies, accurate stock‑in/stock‑out, and control of shrinkage, expiry and product quality.
• Track order fulfillment, KPIs and staff availability, adjusting resources to meet operational demand.
• Collaborate with maintenance, PRO, IT, logistics, SSC and marketing teams as needed.
• Escalate property‑management issues and propose solutions.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising efficiency.
• Conduct weekly and monthly performance reviews, monitor productivity and address major performance gaps.
• Support financial and operational performance improvements and execute action plans from the department manager.
• Facilitate training, staff engagement, system updates and special‑project briefings.
• Review merchandising and space‑planning guidelines for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail or grocery operations, including inventory and asset management.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Focus on quality, expense control and performance optimization.
• Experience delivering training and development programs.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency
