Asian Commis I – Food & Beverage

About the role

The Asian Commis I supports the kitchen team in delivering high‑quality Asian cuisine at a Marriott Westin property in Aqaba. This full‑time position involves preparing special meals, managing temperature controls, and ensuring food safety standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Asian dishes according to recipes, presentation, and quality standards.
• Regulate ovens, broilers, grills and roasters to maintain proper cooking temperatures.
• Thaw frozen items in refrigeration units and maintain accurate food logs.
• Monitor portion sizes, garnish presentation, and overall food quality.
• Communicate with chefs and service staff about specials, out‑of‑stock items, and excess inventory.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling and performance coaching as needed.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, reporting any hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar food‑preparation role.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift up to 25 lb throughout the shift.
