Assistant Cost Controller

About the role

The Assistant Cost Controller supports the finance and project teams by monitoring project expenditures, ensuring they remain within approved budgets, and contributing to profitability improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in creating and maintaining project budgets.
• Track project costs and expenses against budgeted amounts.
• Collaborate with project managers and finance colleagues to analyse cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare cost reports and financial statements for management review.
• Support forecasting of future project costs and revenues.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• Help prepare financial analyses and recommendations for cost‑control measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in cost control or a comparable financial role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost‑management techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Detail‑oriented and capable of working under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with financial software tools.
