Assistant Finance Manager

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to lead the Accounting Department of Fairmont Amman, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls and effective collaboration across hotel operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, manage month‑end and year‑end closing, and prepare statutory financial statements and profit & loss reports.
• Supervise Accounts Payable and Receivable processes, ensuring timely invoice processing, payments and collections.
• Review daily revenue reconciliations from Front Office, F&B and other departments, verify cash and card transactions, and enforce revenue controls.
• Assist in budgeting, financial forecasts, variance analysis and cost‑control initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with hotel policies, accounting standards and tax regulations; support internal, external and statutory audits.
• Coordinate payroll review with HR, verify related costs and ensure compliance.
• Monitor inventory of food, beverage and operating supplies, supporting regular stock‑taking.
• Lead, coach and develop the finance team, promoting teamwork and professional standards.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Significant professional accounting experience, including senior or team‑leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and tax regulations (VAT, withholding tax) and statutory reporting.
• Proven experience managing month‑end/year‑end closes and working with external auditors.
• Deep understanding of internal controls, financial compliance and segregation of duties.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Professional proficiency in English.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with accounting software/systems.
