Category Manager

About the role

Talabat is looking for a Category Manager to lead the growth of its own grocery store, tMart, the region’s first cloud‑store concept offering 30‑minute delivery at hypermarket prices. The role covers multiple markets across the Middle East and North Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full category lifecycle – assortment, pricing, promotions and supply – for assigned grocery categories.
• Monitor economic performance (sales, gross margin, P&L) and ensure alignment with the commercial strategy.
• Define and maintain local assortments, integrate basic assortments, and provide regional teams with product quantity forecasts.
• Select and negotiate with local suppliers, managing cost price, discounts, rebates and payment terms.
• Set pricing according to guidelines, conduct market price audits and develop country‑specific promotion calendars.
• Collaborate with operations, tools, and templates teams to improve flows and fixtures.
• Identify and resolve supplier issues, and ensure effective execution of promotional events.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience managing multiple product categories in large FMCG retailers, preferably in an international setting.
• Proven ability to build teams and lead cross‑functional projects at scale.
• Detail‑oriented, structured, and capable of prioritising tasks to deliver solutions.
• Willingness to work on the warehouse floor or make deliveries when needed to ensure project success.
