About the role
The Channel Sales Manager will lead the Modern Trade sales team, work directly with top customers, and strengthen the company’s sales, distribution and visibility across the channel. This senior position is responsible for shaping strategy, managing relationships and ensuring execution excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Organise and staff the Modern Trade (MT) team, providing coaching, mentoring and training to achieve business results.
- Develop and deploy Sales OGSM and action plans aligned with company strategy for the MT channel.
- Manage relationships and negotiate yearly contracts with key Modern Trade customers to secure deployment levels.
- Design and oversee trade programs that drive sales volume and market share.
- Set and monitor customer business development budgets, ensuring investment stays within channel averages.
- Optimise deployment of people, vehicles and sales tools to meet coverage targets.
- Collaborate with suppliers and brand managers on aggressive sales plans.
- Oversee collection of trade receivables in line with credit policy.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing (MBA a plus).
- Minimum 8 years of sales experience.
- At least 2 years in a managerial role within Modern Trade.
