Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead all accounting functions for our holding companies, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with IFRS, and timely reporting. This senior position reports directly to senior management and collaborates closely with HR and external consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely transaction processing and reporting.
• Oversee preparation of journal vouchers, financial statements, and analytical reports in line with company policies.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and annual budgets, including latest estimate forecasts for the holding entities.
• Lead ERP optimization projects, enhancing module utilization and process efficiency.
• Support external auditors by providing required documentation for annual audits.
• Monitor accounts payable ageing, ensuring prompt payments and proactive balance management.
• Coordinate accounting activities for the Zug entity, working with HR and outsourced consultants.
• Control departmental purchase requisitions to ensure budget compliance and proper authorization.
• Manage the yearly fixed‑asset inventory count for all holding companies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of month‑end closing processes and International Accounting Standards (IAS) and IFRS.
• Proficiency in written, read and spoken Arabic and English.
• Familiarity with financial transfers and interest‑rate concepts.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
