Civil Site Inspector

About the role

The Site Inspector (Civil) is responsible for inspecting and monitoring civil and structural works on‑site to ensure they meet approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and applicable codes. The role works closely with the Resident Engineer to maintain construction quality, document inspections and support timely project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of foundations, columns, slabs, blockwork, plastering, concrete works, waterproofing and finishing works.
• Verify compliance with structural and architectural drawings, method statements and project requirements.
• Identify non‑conforming work, issue observations and Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Inspect formwork, reinforcement, concrete placement and curing activities before and after execution.
• Witness field tests, monitor workmanship quality and ensure internal/external finishes meet standards.
• Ensure all activities comply with Jordanian Building Codes, project specifications and relevant international standards.
• Review material submittals, shop drawings, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and method statements.
• Prepare daily and weekly inspection reports with photographic documentation.
• Coordinate daily with contractors, consultants, project teams and local authorities to resolve issues and maintain schedules.
• Support HSE compliance, report unsafe conditions and promote a safe working environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Membership in the Jordan Engineers Association.
• Relevant inspection or quality certification (e.g., QA/QC).

Required skills

• Civil engineering inspection.
• Construction quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC).
• Knowledge of Jordanian Building Codes and international construction standards.
• Material submittal review and verification.
• Preparation of inspection reports and Non‑Conformance Reports.
