Commis B – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Commis B supports the culinary team by preparing ingredients, cooking, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. This full‑time position is based at our hotel in Amman and follows the high standards of Marriott International.

Key responsibilities

• Portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Prepare and cook food, including cold dishes, while adhering to quality, presentation and safety standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers; test foods for proper cooking.
• Monitor food quality, set up and break down work stations, and serve food in correct portions.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, knives and equipment; ensure appliance temperatures are correct.
• Follow company safety policies, report incidents and complete required safety training.
• Maintain a professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Operation of ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Ingredient preparation: chopping, washing, peeling, weighing and measuring.
• Food safety and sanitation practices.
