Commis (First) – Food & Beverage

About the role

Join the culinary team at a leading international hotel brand as a First Commis. You will support the kitchen in preparing high‑quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring smooth service during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, cold dishes, and standard menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures; pull and thaw frozen items safely.
• Maintain portion control, food logs, and garnish standards.
• Monitor food quality and quantity, inform the chef of excess items for specials, and update service staff on menu changes and out‑of‑stock items.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling and basic employee coaching as directed by management.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies; report maintenance issues and unsafe conditions.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lb, standing for long periods, and moving in tight kitchen spaces.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree related to culinary arts.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site in a fast‑paced environment.
