About the role

The Commis II – Casual will support the kitchen team at our Westin hotel in Aqaba by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This full‑time position is ideal for candidates with basic culinary training who are eager to develop their skills in a reputable international hospitality brand.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients: portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble cold and hot dishes while adhering to quality, presentation and food‑preparation checklists.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Monitor cooking progress, test doneness and ensure food is served at correct temperatures.
• Set up and break down work stations, clean and disinfect surfaces, tools, knives and equipment.
• Check appliance and food temperatures and report any safety or maintenance issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• At least one year of related kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb and work in a fast‑paced environment.
