Commis II Kitchen Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Commis II to join our kitchen team at a luxury hotel in Amman. The role involves supporting chefs by preparing ingredients, cooking, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, wash, peel, and measure produce.
• Cook and assemble dishes according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Test food for doneness and monitor quality throughout preparation.
• Set‑up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas and equipment.
• Check and record appliance and food temperatures.
• Follow all company safety, security and hygiene policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a food‑service or kitchen environment.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work standing for long periods and lift up to 25 lb.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation and cooking techniques.
