Communications and Advocacy Consultant

About the role

The Communications and Advocacy Consultant will provide strategic advocacy and communications support for UNICEF’s regional priorities. Working remotely, the consultant will help develop, coordinate, document and amplify visibility and advocacy efforts at both regional and country levels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement advocacy and communications strategies and products aligned with UNICEF’s branding.
• Coordinate knowledge management, partnership activities and donor reporting across regions.
• Document and amplify regional and country‑level advocacy initiatives.
• Produce high‑quality written and edited materials for external, internal and donor audiences.
• Support the creation of visibility assets and ensure consistency with UNICEF content guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Knowledge Management, International Development, Partnership Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in communications, advocacy, knowledge management or partnership management, preferably in the development/humanitarian sector.
• Experience focusing on water, sanitation, climate change or related issues.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); Arabic and/or French are assets.
• Previous experience working with UN agencies is desirable.

Required skills

• Strong experience developing advocacy and communications strategies and products.
• Proven track record in knowledge management, partnership coordination and donor reporting.
• Excellent writing and editing skills for external, internal and donor audiences.
• Familiarity with UNICEF branding and content strategies (advantage).
