Construction Accountant – Project Finance & Cost Control

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant with at least three years of experience in the construction sector. The successful candidate will manage project‑based financial records, ensure accurate cost control, and support budgeting activities across all phases of construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to construction projects.
• Monitor job costing, project budgets, and compare actual expenses against forecasts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable for subcontractors and suppliers.
• Process payroll and allocate labor costs to the appropriate projects.
• Review construction contracts for accurate billing and compliance.
• Generate budget tracking and cost‑analysis reports for project managers.
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing required documentation.
• Support tax filing preparation, including sales and use tax in multiple jurisdictions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on accounting experience in construction.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, job costing, and vendor management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, estimators, and procurement teams.
