Country Director Palestine

About the role

The Country Director for Palestine will lead the mission’s operations, ensuring safety, programme quality and strategic development while based in Amman. You will be the primary point of contact for donors, partners and authorities, steering the response to the evolving humanitarian context in Gaza and the West Bank.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of staff and assets across the mission.
• Coordinate programme teams, monitor implementation, and propose new operations.
• Oversee human‑resources functions, define objectives and supervise staff performance.
• Manage logistical, administrative and financial processes in line with PUI and donor requirements.
• Guarantee medical and technical practices comply with organisational policies.
• Represent PUI with partners, donors, media and authorities.
• Maintain effective communication and reporting between headquarters and the field.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in humanitarian action, project management, or a related technical field.
• Minimum three years of experience with international NGOs, including project coordination; prior Country Director experience is a plus.
• Strong leadership, decision‑making and communication abilities, with high resilience to stress in unstable environments.

• Fixed‑term executive contract (12 months) with a gross monthly salary of €3,330 – €3,730, plus seniority allowance.
