Course Lecturer – Process Design (CHEE453)

About the role

The Department of Chemical Engineering at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer for the undergraduate Process Design course (CHEE453) in the Fall 2026 term. The lecturer will deliver lectures and lead hands‑on instruction using the Aspen‑HYSYS simulation software.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present two weekly lectures covering process design fundamentals.
• Conduct practical sessions teaching Aspen‑HYSYS for steady‑state and dynamic simulations.
• Hold weekly office hours (approximately 2 hours) to support student learning.
• Develop and grade assignments, projects, and examinations.
• Collaborate with the Chemical Engineering faculty to ensure course alignment with program objectives.

Required profile

• B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum five years of industry experience in technology selection, process, or plant design.
• Prior experience teaching an undergraduate chemical engineering course, preferably Process Design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Aspen‑HYSYS process simulation software.
