Data Solutions Analyst / Scientist – Network Forecasting

About the role

We are looking for a Data Solutions Analyst/Scientist to lead forecasting, AI‑driven models and scalable data products that support Australia Post’s national network operations. The role is based in Amman and works with flexible hours to align with Australian time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end network forecasting across first, middle and last mile operations.
• Enhance short‑ and long‑range volume forecasts and build scenario and sensitivity models.
• Integrate internal data with external economic, demographic and market drivers.
• Partner with operations, planning, finance, commercial and technology teams to translate analytics into decision‑ready insights.
• Apply statistical, machine‑learning and AI methods (time‑series, regression, causal modelling, anomaly detection, classification, clustering) to improve forecast accuracy.
• Design and build scalable, analytics‑ready datasets and production‑grade forecasting pipelines using SQL and Google Cloud Platform tools.
• Implement analytics‑engineering best practices (testing, CI/CD, version control) and ensure strong data governance.
• Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency, service outcomes and network performance.

Required profile

• Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and handling uncertainty.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to turn complex outputs into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Experience with large, complex datasets and end‑to‑end forecasting solutions.
