Economic Recovery and Development (ERD) Manager

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Jordan is seeking an Economic Recovery and Development (ERD) Manager to lead its ERD portfolio. The role focuses on market‑systems development, demand‑driven upskilling, vocational and technical training, and strengthening economic systems for refugees and vulnerable Jordanians.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and oversee ERD programmes that create stable, market‑linked income opportunities.
• Develop and maintain technical partnerships with the Vocational Training Center, Ministry of Youth, Greater Amman Municipality, financial service providers and private‑sector actors.
• Coordinate with IRC ERD teams in Syria and Lebanon to align strategies and share learning.
• Ensure programme quality, monitor outcomes and report to the Head of Programs.
• Lead demand‑driven upskilling and vocational/technical training initiatives based on labour‑market analysis.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing economic development or livelihood programmes in humanitarian contexts.
• Strong understanding of market‑systems development and vocational training ecosystems.
• Excellent stakeholder management and partnership building skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across regional teams and with government agencies.
