Education Program MEAL Coordinator – Damascus

About the role

The Education Program MEAL Coordinator will design, coordinate and roll out Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) systems for the Education Programme Management Unit in Damascus. Working under the Education Chief of Party, the role ensures that consortium and implementing partners apply harmonised MEAL tools and meet donor reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and contextualise MEAL guidance for consortium and partners.
• Lead the implementation of MEAL systems, including Indicator Performance Tracking Table, logframe, PRIME and Activity Tracking tools.
• Maintain and update indicator and output trackers, ensuring data quality and timely reporting.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building to partner staff on data collection, storage, analysis and visualization.
• Develop and monitor an operational MEAL plan, tracking progress of programme activities.
• Liaise with SCI MEAL team and partners to ensure alignment with donor requirements.
• Prepare regular progress reports and contribute to evaluations and assessments.

Required profile

• Experience in designing and managing MEAL systems in education or humanitarian programmes.
• Strong understanding of donor reporting standards and child safeguarding (Level 4).
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple partners and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in data analysis, visualization and reporting.

Required skills

• KoboCollect for data collection.
• Power BI for data visualization.
• Data analysis and indicator tracking.
• Design of MEAL tools such as IPT, logframe and activity trackers.
