Electrical Power Production Technician (EPP)

About the role

The Electrical Power Production Technician is responsible for maintaining, modifying, and repairing electrical power generating and control systems, including automatic transfer switches and associated equipment. This role ensures generators operate within required voltage, current, frequency, and synchronization parameters.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, modify, and repair electrical power generating and control systems, automatic transfer switches, and associated equipment.
• Perform scheduled periodic maintenance and adjust generator systems to maintain proper voltage, current, frequency, and synchronization.
• Identify, record, and repair generator malfunctions by removing, repairing, or replacing defective components.
• Work from blueprints, drawings, and operate electrician’s hand tools and testing instruments.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED with formal training on power generating equipment (military technical training, vocational college, or four‑year apprenticeship).
• Four years practical experience maintaining the specified equipment and six months Cummins Commercial, AMMPS, and InPower Software experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, carrying, reaching, and lifting for sustained periods.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance and US CENTCOM Medical Exam.

Required skills

• Experience with Cummins generator series (DGDK, DSGAB, DGBB, C15D6, C35D6, 125D6D, MEPP 1050, 1070A, PP‑3106A).
• Proficiency with Cummins InPower software and Advanced Medium Mobile Power Source (AMMPS).
• Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation.
• Use of electrician’s hand tools and testing instruments.
