Employee Relations Coordinator (National) – Damascus

About the role

The Employee Relations Coordinator supports Save the Children International’s mission by ensuring fair, transparent and legally compliant employee relations processes across the country office. The role provides expert guidance on disciplinary and appeal procedures, promotes a safe and inclusive workplace, and reports trends to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead investigations and resolution of employee grievances, disciplinary cases and appeals, ensuring timely and equitable outcomes.
• Monitor, analyse and report on employee‑relations trends, identifying systemic issues and recommending policy improvements.
• Provide expert advice to managers on complex employee‑relations matters, enhancing consistency with organisational and legal standards.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert for senior management on high‑risk or sensitive cases, coordinating with internal or external legal advisors as needed.
• Foster strong, trusting relationships with staff and promote a culture of safety, inclusion and respect.

Required profile

• Proven experience in employee relations, investigations or HR compliance within an international or non‑profit setting.
• Strong knowledge of local labour legislation and international HR best practices.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to present findings to senior leadership.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
