Engineering Shift Leader

About the role

The Engineering Shift Leader will oversee the daily operation and maintenance of all engineering equipment and facilities at our Marriott property in Amman. This role ensures that tools, appliances, and systems are installed, calibrated, and kept in optimal condition while supporting a safe and efficient work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances, and engineering equipment.
• Calibrate controls, gauges, meters and identify, locate, and operate shut‑off valves.
• Order, label, stock, and manage parts and supplies; maintain inventory and purchase order logs.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and machines; record work‑related information using computer systems.
• Operate power lifts and handle materials up to 75 lb, including moving items on stairs, ramps, and uneven surfaces.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching staff; act as a role model.
• Follow all company safety, security, and environmental policies; report hazards, accidents, and maintain proper storage of flammable materials.
• Maintain a professional appearance and address guest service needs promptly.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• 4–6 years of relevant engineering or facilities maintenance experience.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 75 lb without assistance.
• Capability to work on stairs, ramps, ladders and in various physical positions.
