Farsi & Arabic Modern Standard Linguist (CAT II)

About the role

Valiant is looking for a skilled linguist to provide high‑quality interpretation, transcription, and translation services supporting U.S. operations and mission requirements. The role involves working in austere environments and delivering culturally accurate language support.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate consecutive translation, transcription, and interpretation from Farsi to English and vice‑versa.
• Translate colloquial, slang, and formal expressions between English and Farsi.
• Provide cultural and ethnic context for statements, conversations, and documents.
• Scan, research, and analyze foreign‑language documents.
• Travel to and operate within austere locations as required.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with a Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain).
• ILR Level 3/3 proficiency in Farsi (native level preferred) and strong English writing skills.
• Extensive knowledge of Farsi culture and prior regional experience.
• Ability to understand standard dialects without frequent paraphrasing.
• Physical fitness to meet demanding environmental and medical requirements.

Required skills

• Fluency in Farsi (reading, writing, speaking).
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic (desired but not mandatory).
